The FROGS

The FROGS (full-range oxygen gas system) is used during stealth missions. All of the air exhaled by the lungs is recovered and recycled oxygen. Rejects the CO2 is recycled through a cartridge of lime. The fighter does not make bubbles in the water and passes unnoticed.Built in composite materials and plastics, the device is not magnetic and does not trigger the mines.
Lieutenant Nadège Huart, detachment commander of the combat divers the 19 thEngineer Regiment, described his equipment:
"In tactical environment, divers carry more than 30 kilograms of equipment. We start by equipping a jacket which can be weighted. The FROGS, covered with a camouflage net, then is positioned on the stomach or back. Attached to the jacket, are a small air cylinder, a tuba, a small lamp, a depth gauge and a flash lamp to signal. In terms of armament, we have a knife on the leg, an automatic pistol (PA) and a Famas in the back. We also carry a waterproof bag which is a mesh replacement and survival kits. We swim flippers on your feet. "
