Washington considers it necessary to maintain a dialogue on security with Beijing, but remains concerned about cyberthreats from China, said Wednesday in Washington, the White House press secretary Jay Carney.
"The United States and China are among the major actors in cyberspace, and it is essential that we continue a dialogue stable and efficient in order to define the limits of acceptable behavior in cyberspace," said M.Carney during a press conference.
"We will continue to raise the issue of cyber attacks in our negotiations with Chinese officials, including military," he said.
Previously, the Western media reported that the U.S. government could enact trade sanctions against China if it was confirmed that cyber attacks targeting U.S. companies and institutions were committed with the official support of Beijing.
This information was released after the publication of a report by the American Society Mandiant, that cyber attacks against the United States were conducted by Unit 61398 of the Chinese army deployed on the outskirts of Shanghai. The spokesman of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Hong Lei then denied the accusations .
